When I was a kid I always enjoyed the drive of a cross-country road trip to visit relatives all over Alberta. I loved seeing all the old barns and fences, different types of farmer’s crops, fields of green pasture and their grazing cows. Driving out into the country on a sunny day was then and still is such a great reminder of the amount of space we are so blessed to have in this country, and of course is a great way to take in the enormous Alberta sky. Moving to the country has allowed me to take this little scenic adventure almost everyday. Of course there are the obvious cons of daily highway driving, but when the conditions are good and the sun is shining bright it is an incredibly relaxing thing to do. And today, on my daily drive and survey of the lands, it happened. Today is the day the world is officially changing a little bit. There is a gentle green buzz, as I like to think of it, among the treetops. One day the trees are stick-naked, and the next that promising hue just appears. The spring eruption is just around the corner. I could almost feel it in the air. So sit tight, but not for long... Summer is coming!
To the simple joys in life,
